Application Brief

A 12 oz Cup Built Around a Heavy Paper Structure

The U.S. customer required a firm single-wall beverage cup for use in coffee shops, milk tea shops, and fast-food restaurants.

The selected 12 oz format is approximately 360 ml. Its measured dimensions are about 9 cm across the top, 11.5 cm in height, and 6 cm across the bottom. These dimensions, together with the 320 GSM paper structure, defined the forming and sealing requirements for the project.

Preheating Before Ultrasonic Bonding

For 320 GSM paper with an 18 GSM PE coating, a hot-air gun preheats the side-seam area before ultrasonic bonding, helping the bonding process work more efficiently.

02 / CUP BOTTOM

Heat Distribution at the Bottom Joint

Compared with lighter cup stock, the 320 GSM blank presents greater resistance during forming, making heat distribution at the bottom joint important.

Printing Customization

Custom Printing for Branded Paper Cups

We support custom printing for paper cup projects. Logos, brand colors, text, patterns, and full-wrap artwork can be applied to the paper fan blanks before cup forming.

For this U.S. project, the blue full-wrap design remained clear on the finished 12 oz cups. Customers can provide their artwork or cup design so the print layout can be prepared for the selected cup format.
