5 oz Paper Cup Production in China
For this 5 oz paper cup production project, we recommended MYC-160SM and matched the setup to the customer’s cup, paper and inspection needs.
Printed paper fans → cup forming → inspection → collection

A small-cup product for coffee and tasting
The customer in China wanted to build a small-cup offering for coffee portions and drink sampling. The chosen product was a printed 5 oz cup, using paper fans in the 170–210 GSM range.
Our focus was to turn that product into a practical production setup: match the cup to the machine, prepare the paper for forming and plan where rejected cups would go.

Why we recommended the MYC-160SM
We connected the machine choice to three practical parts of the customer’s production plan.
Cup size comes first
The model’s 2–9 oz range covers the 5 oz product. We recommended confirming the cup drawing before fixing the tooling, because capacity alone does not define the cup shape.
Speed matched to the job
The 140–160 cups/min specification suited regular small-cup runs. Our advice was to validate the running rate with the selected paper and formed cups, rather than automatically use the highest setting.
Preparation and checking
This setup includes water spray and quality inspection. We kept paper wetting and reject handling in the recommendation, so these steps were part of the machine decision.
Printed fans and a water spray device
This customer uses printed paper fans in the 170–210 GSM range. Preparing the paper is part of the setup for this small-cup application.

Our advice on paper
We recommend checking the actual printed fan and its coating, not GSM alone. Use the customer’s 170–210 GSM material as the starting point when reviewing the forming settings.

Include paper wetting
For paper preparation, we recommended the water spray device shown in this setup. Its role is to shorten wetting time before forming.
5 oz paper cup production in motion
The MYC-160SM is specified at 140–160 cups/min. Printed fans enter the feeding mechanism and move into the forming stations, where the small cups take shape.

A separate path for rejected cups
We recommended planning reject handling alongside forming capacity. The quality inspection device checks formed cups, and cups identified as defective are directed to a separate outlet rather than the main collection route.

Three measurements for the 5 oz cup
Our advice is to compare the finished cup with the drawing, not just the 5 oz label. The sample measured on camera is approximately 65 mm across the top, 71 mm high and 45 mm across the bottom.

Check rim and bottom finish alongside the dimensions when reviewing a sample for a similar project.

From a cup idea to a defined setup
Our role was to connect the customer’s product plan with the machine, material preparation and checks needed around it.
The demonstrated configuration brings those recommendations together: MYC-160SM, water spray and quality inspection, followed by a measured 5 oz sample.
